Tediesville User Guide (Facebook)



Welcome

Hello, welcome to Teddiesville (BETA). Teddiesville is a dressing up game with a very simple game play - you collect hearts by visiting your friends so that you can buy items to dress up your teddy and decorate your home. Teddiesville has numerous user configurable settings that allows you to be creative and imaginative.

Teddiesville is still in BETA - we will adding more stuff soon. Before we continue the user guide, we would like to thank you for playing the game and we hope that you will enjoy playing it!

The Beginning ...



When you start the game, you can see your teddy in an empty room (you are given a free room when you first start the game; you get a new room everytime you get to a new level up to a maximum of 24 rooms). You can see some buttons and information at the top of the room , the Main Menu and a row of invites or teddies (if you have friends already playing Teddiesville) at the bottom of the room.

Game Levels, Level Club Badges and New Rooms





You get a free Level Club Badge each time you get to new level; each Level Club Badge is unique; the image above shows the first 3 badges (there are altogether 50 badges). Show off your badges to your friends by decorating your room with them. You also get a new room for every 2 levels, starting from Level 2 i.e. you get a new room when you get to level 2, and you get another new room when you get to level 4, so on and so forth.

You only get new rooms up to level 22 and new Level Club badges up to level 50 i.e. in total you will get 12 rooms and 50 Level Club badges . However, there is no limit to the number of levels you can get to in Teddiesville.

You will be promoted to a new level once you have collected enough hearts for that level - please note that only hearts received from visiting friends are counted towards your new level. To get to Level 2, you need to collect 250 hearts. Each level will require an additional 500 Hearts e.g. for Level 3, you need 750 (250 + 500) Hearts, Level 4 (750 + 500) 1250 Hearts etc.



The "Level" button shows the current level you are at, the current amount of hearts that you have collected and the number of hearts needed to be promoted to the next level.

Sound and Quality Settings



At the top left corner of th eroom is the "Sound" and "Quality" buttons. The sound button allows you to activate or deactivate the sound. The quality button toggles between high and low resolution. The low resolution is not very nice but it might help if Teddiesville is running slowly or taking too much of your computer power.

Number Of Hearts



To the right of the "Sound" and "Quality" buttons, you can see the number of Hearts you currently have. When you first start the game, you are given 250 Hearts. The number of Hearts will be updated accordingly when you receive hearts during friend visits, when you win hearts playing the lottery, when you buy or sell items, when you buy hearts and when you get free hearts by trying out offers and filling up surveys.

Room Info



At the top right-hand corner is the "Room Info" and "Level" button. The "Room Info" button allows you to name and describe you room; when you click this button, a popup wil appear that allows you edit the name and the description of the room that you are viewing. When you are in a friend's room, the clicking the button will show you the information that your friend has given to the room.

Scrolling the Room



At the bottom corners of the room are the Scroll buttons. These buttons allow you to scroll the room left and right. Scrolling is disable when you change clothes and you are editing your teddy.

The Main Menu



The main menu provides access to all the functionalities of Teddiesville:
- changing the clothes of your teddy
- decorating your rooms
- changingthe colors of your rooms
- editing your teddy bear
- editing your teddy's speech bubble
- maps to all your rooms
- shorcuts to the shops and the bank
- taking snapshots of your teddy and your rooms
- your message board
- your wish list
- your list of recent gifts
- playing the lottery
- updating your teddy profile on Facebook

We will go into details of each of these functionalities in later sections.

Friends Teddies, Visiting Friends and Collecting Hearts



If you have friends already playing Teddiesville, you will see their teddies in the row below the Main Menu. You need to fill up this row with your friend teddies so that you can visit them and collect hearts. If the row is empty or has only few teddies, you need to invite your freinds to play Teddiesville. To invite your friends, click on the "Invite" sign. Remember that you need to have as many friends as possible playing Teddiesville so that you can collect as many hearts as possible.

You can collect a heart from your friend once every 60 minutes. Once a heart is collected, a gray heart will appear beside the teddy. A pink heart will appear when a heart is ready for collection. To collect a heart from a friend, click on his/her teddy. A visit popup will appear for your confirmation. An very short advertisement will be show while your friend's rooms are being loaded.

Once you in your friend's home, your teddy will automatically hug your friend's teddy to collect the heart. If you have collected already a heart in the last 60 minutes, no hugging will take place.

Once you have collected your heart, you can view your friend's speech bubble, you can visit all your friend's rooms, read and post messages on your friend's message board, take a look at your friend's wish list (you can also items on the wish list for your friend) and take snapshots of your, your friend's teddy and rooms.

Moving Your Teddy ... and your friend's teddy



Before we look at the main menu, let us tell you how you could move your teddy. Your teddy is quite independent. It will move by itself without you doing anything. However, if you want it to move to a certain spot, click on a narrow strip at the bottom part of the floor (as shown in the above picture) - you can't see this strip, but your mouse cursor will change to a hand cursor when you are over it. When you click a spot, a pawprint will appear momentarily on the spot and your teddy will walk to that spot. Once it reaches the spot, it might stay there and do a bit of shrugging, jumping, posing or dancing or it might walk away to another spot. You cannot directly control your friend's teddy. However, when you click a new spot, your freind's teddy will follow your teddy once it reaches that spot. Again, once the teddies reach the new spot they might stay there and do a bit of shrugging, jumping posing or dancing or it might walk away to another spot.

Changing Clothes



Click on the "Change Clothes" button to dress up your teddy. You will see in the inventory of all the clothing items that you have; when you first start the game you are given a free t-shirt, a short and a hat. When you click on the item icon, a popup with 3 options will appear "Wear Item", "Give Item" and "Sell Item".

Click on the "Wear Item" if you want to wear it - any item that your teddy is currently wearing will be replaced and put in the inventory.

Click on the "Give Item" if you want to give the item to a friend; a popup will appear and you can choose the friend you want to give the item to and you can write a short message if you want to. If you would like to sell the item, clik on the "Sell Item" button; the item wil be sold for 1/3 of the original price; the hearts that you will receive from the sale wil be automatically added to your account.

To remove an item that your teddy is wearing, click on the item and then choose "OK". The remove item will be put back at the end of the inventory.

Once you are happy with what your teddy is wearing, click on the "Save" button and the changes will be saved on to our servers.

Decorating Your Rooms



Click on the "Decorate" button to decorate your rooms. You will see in the inventory of all the room items that you have; when you first start the game you are given a Level 1 Club badge, a door, a window, a stool, a pot of flowers and a wallpaper with transparent background. When you click on the item icon, a popup with 3 options will appear "Use Item", "Give Item" and "Sell Item".

Click on the "Use Item" if you want to use it and the item will place at the center of the room. Use your mouse to drag to where you want it to be. You can place it infront or behind other objects by clicking on the "Send To back" and "Send To Front" buttons. A quick note about transparent items (items with transparent background) - wallpaper, skirting and flooring transparent items allow you to change their color by changing the colors of the wall, the skirting or the flooring respectively. The pictures below show the same item (Large Stripes Transparent Wallpaper) with pink and orange wall xolors respectively.



Click on the "Give Item" if you want to give the item to a friend; a popup will appear and you can choose the friend you want to give the item to and you can write a short message if you want to. If you would like to sell the item, clik on the "Sell Item" button; the item wil be sold for 1/3 of the original price; the hearts that you will receive from the sale wil be automatically added to your account.

To remove a wallpaper, skirting or flooring, click on the item and a popup will appear for confirmation. To remove other types of items, select the item and the click on the "Remove From Room" button.

Once you are happy with your room's decorations, click on the "Save" button and the changes will be saved on to our servers.

Changing the colors of your rooms



Click on the "Edit Room" button to change the colors of your rooms; you change the colors of your wall, skirting and flooring. You might not be able to see the color change if your wall, skirting or flooring are covered by a wallpaper, skirting or flooring item respectively, unless the item has "transparent" background. You also have the option to hide the skirting. Besides making a room look diffrent, hiding the skirting will also allow you create rooms that look like gardens, beaches or parks with the right wallpapers and floorings as show below.




Once you are happy with your room colors, click on the "Save" button and the changes will be saved on to our servers.

Editing Your Teddy



Click on the "Edit Teddy" button to customize your teddy by giving it a name and sex, changing the type of ears, mouth, eyes, eyebrows and tattoo your teddy has and the colors of its body parts. With all the different parts and colors, theoretically there are millions of combinations!

Editing Your Teddy's Speech Bubble



Click on the "Edit Speech Bubble" button to edit your teddy's speech bubble. The speech bubble allows you to tell your friends what you or your teddy is thinking or feeling. The speech bubble can be seen when your freinds visit your home.

Room Map



Click on the "Room Map" to have access to all your rooms. The room map shows your available rooms and locked rooms. A room will be unlocked everytime you are promoted to a new level until a maximum of 12 rooms.

Shoping and Banking



Click on the "Shortcuts" button to have access to the clothes shop, furniture and DIY shop and the Teddiesville Heart Bank. When you are in the shops, click on the categories to view the items.



The items in the shop can be sorted according to the latest, the cheapest and the most expensive. When you click on the an item in the shop, a buy popup will appear for your confirmation. The popup also has a "Add to Wish List" button for you to add the item to your wish list instead of buying it. Your friends will access to your wish list and hopefull they will make your wish comes true!



From time to time you will see items with "Sale" or "Limited Time" signs. Items with "Sale" signs means that their prices have been reduced. The items will be on sale for a certain period of time. Items with "Limited Time" signs means that the items can only be bought for a limited time, after which the items will be withdrawn from the shops. We will make announcement for "Sale" or "Limited Time" items.



The Teddiesville Bank shows you how you could get hearts by buying them using Paypal or credit cards or by trying out offers and filling out surveys. Clicking on the "PayPal" button will redirect you to the "Buy Hearts" page and clicking the "Offers & Surveys" will bring you to the "Free Hearts" page.

Taking Snapshots



You can take a snapshot of your teddy and your rooms and download them to your Facebook account. Move your teddy or the room to take your best shot. The upload will be automatic if you have given photo upload permission to the Teddiesville application (click on Photo Upload Permission button). If you have not given permission, you need to approve each photo by going to your Facebook photos page. You can also take snapshots when you are visiting your friends. Learning how to take good snapshots is important because most of the contests that we organize will be based on snapshots.

Message Board



You and your friends can leave messages on each other message boards. Messages are visible to all your friends (just like Facebook Wall). You can delete a message at anytime. To leave a message on your friend's Message Board, visit your friend and click on the "Message Board". You can keep a maximum of 120 messages. Once you reach the limit, new messages will replace the old ones.

Wish List



The wish list allows your friends to see items that you wish for. You can keep a maximum of 12 items in your list. To add an item, visit the shops, choose an item and click on the "Add To Wish List" button. Your Wish List can be seen by all your friends; likewise, you can see your freinds' lists When you view your friend's wish list, you can click on the "Buy & Give" button and make your friend's wish comes true! A confirmation window will appear where you can also write a short message to accompany your gift. If you want your friend to be notified of a gift that you have given him/her on her Facebook account, you need to give Teddiesville the necessary feed notification permission.

Recent Gifts



The Gift List shows 24 most recent gifts from your friends. New gifts are added automatically to your inventories in "Change Clothes" or "Decorate Room" the next time when you load the game. You will also be notified on your Facebook account of gifts being sent by your friends if you have not blocked notifications from Teddiesville and your friends have allowed Teddiesville to sent such notifications.

The Lottery



The lottery allows you to win some hearts to help you in your heart collection. Currently, you can play the lottery once every 60 minutes and you are guaranteed to win at least 1 heart and up to a maximum of 25. Please note that the hearts you won from the lottery does not count towards your level.

Updating Your Teddy Profile on Facebook



Click on the "Update Profile" button to update the pictuire of your teddy on your Facebook profile. The picture of your teddy will only appear on your profile if you have added Teddiesville to your profile. To add Teddiesville to your profile click on the "Add to Profile" button at the top of the Teddisville application. If you cannot see the button, it means you have already added Teddiesville to your profile.



Inviting Friends, Buying Hearts, Offers, Contests



To be able to buy items and to reach new levels, you new to invite your freinds to play Teddiesville. To invite your friends, click on the "Invite Friends" tab at the top of the application. You can only invite a limited number of friends each day, so if you have lots of friends, you need to invite them over several days.

You can buy hearts using PayPal or credit cards. To buy hearts, click on the "Buy Hearts" tab at the top of the application. You can also buy hearts on the "Free Hearts" page but we recommend that you buy hearts on the "buy Hearts" page if you are using PayPal or your credit cards because it is a bit cheaper.

Click on the "Free Hearts" tab if you want to get free hearts by trying out offers or filling out surveys. The offers are run Offerpal Media Inc. and not by Teddiesville/Gamoku - the hearts do not come directly from the game. If you have problems receiving your hearts please contact Offerpal Media by clicking on the "View Offer Status" or "Missing hearts" on the "Free Hearts" page

We organize contests on a regularly basis for you to win some hearts. Contests will be announced on the "Contests" page and on the announcement board of the Teddiesville application. Contest announcements and other updates will also be send out to fans so become a fan and be the first to know. To become a fan, go to the Teddiesville profile page and click on the "Become A Fan" button at the top.

Cheating

Lats but not least, we would like to talk briefly about cheating. As in any games, there are always players who would like to cheat. Please do not cheat - it's just not cool and not fair to your friends and other players and takes away the fun of playing the game. Please note also that it is considered cheating to use multiple Facebook accounts when playing Teddiesville as its is against Facebook TOS. Players caught cheating will be banned from playing Teddiesville without warning. If they use multiple accounts, their account ids will be given to Facebook.
